My Lord Raven
Set during the Reign of King Edward I this is a wonderful story of intrigue and betrayal, of love and loyalty. Bran ap Madog has devoted his life to serving his king. And his renown has grown because of it. At Edward’s request Bran is now the King’s Champion with a reputation for ruthlessness and barbarism. No one dares challenge the The King’s Raven.
Catrin Fitzalen is convinced that the King’s Raven is responsible for the murder of her brother and her father but has no proof. When the King gives his champion the hand of Catrin’s delicate and timid young cousin in marriage, Catrin knows the young woman, better suited for a nunnery, would never survive the marriage. Determined to protect Olwen and to find the truth about the murders she poses as Olwen while the girl escapes to a convent. As her cousin she exchanges vows and marries Bran ap Madog. But life with the man who is now her husband is not what she expects. When the real villains rear their heads and attempt to kill “Owlen” Bran must save the woman who symbolizes all that the king gave him. But when Catrin’s deception is revealed will the man she’s come to love and trust be able to love and trust her.

This one is highly recommended and is one that will be revisited again and again.
