Welcome to eMuse

Welcome to the premier issue of eMuse, an online magazine for those who believe that good writers should never become an endangered species. Our goal is to create a place that celebrates literature and art.

As you explore our site this month you will find four stories we feel set the bar for quality short fiction. In the months to come we will be opening our submissions to the public and encourage anyone who believes they are ready to share their work to submit. (Please see our Submissions Guidelines for details.) In our Poetry section, our featured poet this month, Barbara O’Neill, is sharing several of her exceptional works. In addition, other poets have contributed pieces we hope will touch something in you, the reader.

We at eMuse appreciate all forms of art and try to showcase some of our favorites in the Art Section. Our featured artist this month is Britannia Carter, be sure to take a look at the wonderful photographic journey into the unknown world that she has prepared for us.

Our reviews section includes several book reviews including a double review and view with the romance/erotica author Anny Cook. Ms. Cook’s books have been published by multiple imprints and the fantastical worlds she creates weave themselves around the compelling (and very hot) love stories she spins for her readers. Ms. Cook shares not only her thoughts on her current works, but on upcoming installments in her Mystic Valley series.

As you wander through the pages of eMuse, we hope you will find something to entertain you, intrigue you and perhaps inspire your own muses.

While you’re at it, take some time to pop over to our Yahoo announcement loop and sign up.

This is a low volume loop that sends occasional announcements about new issues, calls for submissions and offers a place for readers to ask questions of our staff.

Now some very important thank you’s:

   * To Nena Lloyd-Grey for her proofing. Wading the land of British vs US spelling without a life vest has earned her our eternal regard.

   * To the wonderous and amazing Steve, our fire putter-outer without whom this first edition would have only reached fruition with a lot more chocolate, tears and gnashing of teeth. His virtual pats on the back and bars of chocolate eased the way. He is beloved by all, a techno whiz and a most wonderful man who deserves his crown and title as “King of Crones.”
