Welcome

I could think of at least half a dozen songs, from Black Sabbath to David Bowie, that chorus the all-encompassing power of change. Many people come up against it and cower in the wake of its strangeness, while others allow the excitement of possibility to steer them in new directions. eMuse has gone through a number of changes in our nearly two years as a website. We started out small and grew issue by issue into something beautiful and amazing. We are presently dawning on the biggest issue of eMuse to have ever been released, and it is filled with experimental and exciting new changes. Sure, we've still got poetry, fiction, art and reviews, but for the first time in our short history, we welcome aboard new columnist--podcaster and author James Melzer, who will be offering his column both as a readable article and an audio podcast for eMuse readers to enjoy. This is a big leap toward the future, and while embracing change may not always be easy, you can rest assure that it was at least fun.

Putting together this issue has been an amazing feat, and I know that I, for one, am incredibly proud of everything in its pages. Our new poetry editor, Nicole Ireland chose some absolutely incredible poetry that you will not be disappointed in. The fiction selections this issue vary between the fantastic and the surreal. There are a whole host of book reviews, from free podcast fiction to physical books we hope you'll check out and enjoy. Our guest artist this edition has offered an incredible variety of wildlife photography that will take your breath away. So dive in, check out what our contributors have to offer, and if you like what you see, please tell a friend.

As always, thank you to Steve Chapman and Britannia Carter for all of the hard work they do each and every issue to make sure everything comes out in all the right places. Without them, there would be no eMuse. Don't forget to check out the winners of the eMuse Summer Madness contest, and if you see them around the water cooler, congratulate them. All of the submissions were amazing. Thank you all so much for entering.

Because good writers should never be an endangered species.
