eMuse
Welcome to the December 2008 issue of eMuse. It’s been a busy quarter and a busy year for all. This time of year is a time to look backward and to look ahead to what’s coming. Just like our readers, many of the eMuse staff have undergone the usual life changes that hit us in life; new homes (or renovating old ones), job changes, loss of someone close to us or the addition of new loved ones in our lives. Through it all, the things that makes us eMuse are still alive and well.
While we are a literary magazine, we are also a family here. We share the joys and the sorrows with each other, and by expressing ourselves through our creative outlets, we share them with others. This time of year seems to be one when we have a renewed focus on family no matter what our spiritual or cultural backgrounds. We invite all our readers to join our family. Whether you have a story, poem or piece of art you want to contribute, or if you just want to share what others have contributed you, are a valuable part of our eMuse family and we want to make sure at this time of year you know it.
We’ve put together a great issue for you this month. Don’t you just love the art that our creative Empress Britannia has put together for our banner?
It is just a hint at some of the things in store for you in this issue. While our articles section does feature an article on Historical Romances by Elyssa Edwards and we have several historical book reviews for you as well as a compilation of where you can find all of our previous historical reviews, we also have a good bit of romance, drama, and craftsmanship for you in our other sections.Llewellyn McEllis is taking a look at celebrating NaNoWriMo’s tenth anniversary.
We have fiction selections from d.b.mcniell and Jacquéline Roth. Our poetry section is hopping this month with work from Eve Hall, Felino Soriano, Pamela Tyree Griffin and Birdie Houston along with a special interview with Robert Phillips Poetry Chapbook Prize winner Rebecca Foust. Our art section will feature a conversation and work from Doreen Bates.
If you enjoyed this issue, please take a moment to leave comments for our contributors in our guest book. You can also keep up to date with what’s going on at eMuse by subscribing to our low volume Yahoo announcement loop.
